Red Bull – Tri Islands

That was island hopping extreme! The worldwide unique format connects the North Frisian islands Amrum, Föhr and Sylt. From the island of Amrum, the swim was about 3 kilometers through the open sea to Föhr. After 40 kilometers of cycling over varied terrain, 12-man boats brought the triathletes to Sylt for the final running decision. But the natural knockout mode caused by the tide prevented all participants from making it to Sylt.

The task of our photographer was to accompany the event on land and on water and to distribute the resulting pictures to the media. The decisive factor in this event was time. Like the participants, our sports photographer had to arrive at the jetty in time to catch a speedboat that would shuttle him to Sylt to be there for the final decision. At such an event, the experience of a photographer, coupled with top equipment is the decisive factor. Only in this way is it possible to get the best motif at the decisive moment.
